Citywatch Officer on the server

Post by Ailander »

WARNING
This prc is currently on testing. This is a faction only class. The only prerequisite (for now) is being part of the Citywatch and having the highest possible standing with them

Sometimes it is not enough to be a conquering warrior, a champion of all that's right, an experienced sellsword or an elite soldier. Sometimes, the circumstances require a solid commander of soldiers and situations. Sometimes the circumstances demand for an officer.

These individuals inspire trust in those they lead, they earned that trust by slogging through the lower wards, dangerous dock streets and haunted ways in the City of the Dead. Thanks to their experience, they can see where to best deploy their resources or come up with a sneaky ruse to fool their enemies. The City Watch officers have a tactician's mind, a cartographer's overview of the disputed landscape (or dungeon warren) and a way with words that can inspire battle-hardened fighters to give it their all when melee breaks out.

Wheter leading troops or a company of adventurers, an officer possess a general knowledge of weapons and armor. Their real strength is their ability to lead those who follow them to success they might not otherwise reach on their own. They make for passable warriors themselves when personal danger finds them.

They can be any non chaotic alignment. An officer of the city watch must always keep the City rules at heart and for such reason they cannot raise to the ranks of an officer with a chaotic mind set

The officer relies on the other classes in all ways - it is their job to support a team, magnifying the strengths of each member for success in battles or forays into dangerous cavern complexes.

Powers:

Inspire Greatness
At 1st level, once per day, an officer can direct and motivate his allies to act faster, better and with more strength. They can grant an effect of Haste(just like the spell) that lasts 3 rounds. This is an extraordinary ability.

An officer can use this ability one more time per day every 2 level (twice per day at 3rd level, thrice at 5th etc)) to a maximum of 5 times per rest at 10th level

Motivating Aura
The officer exerts an effect on allies in his vicinity. He can learn to produce different effects, or auras, over the course of his career. An officer begins with one aura at 2nd level that grants a +1 bonus, then gains one more effect and an additional +1 bonus every two levels. So, he will have 2 effects and a +2 bonus at 4th level, 3 effects and a +3 bonus at 6th level, and so on.

The officer may project one aura effect at a time and can change the effect with a move action. The aura may remain permanently active at the officer's will.

Unless otherwise noted, an officer's aura affects all allies within 60 feet (including himself) who can hear the officer. An ally must have an Intelligence score of 3 or higher and be able to understand the officer's language to gain the bonus.

An officer's aura is dismissed if he is dazed, unconscious, stunned, paralyzed, or otherwise unable to be heard or understood by his allies.

The available aura's are:

Determined Caster
With his understanding of magic and unbreakable will, the officer is able to enhance the spells cast by his allies, making them more effective at breaking enemy resistance. This aura grants Spell Penetration; if the target already has Spell Penetration, it grants Greater Spell Penetration. If the target already has Greater Spell Penetration, it grants Epic Spell Penetration.

Motivate Attack
Using battle tactics he has previously learned, the officer is able to direct his allies to strike the weak spots in the enemy's defenses with greater efficiency. The officer grants his aura bonus to attack rolls.

Motivate Care
Using battle tactics he previously learned the officer is able to warn his allies in covering their defences weaknesses. The officer grants their aura bonus to armor class to his allies

Motivate Urgency
With a glance over the terrain the officer is able to direct the movement of his allies so to allow them to pursuit enemies or charge at them faster then normally possible. The officer grants a speed bonus equals to 5 feet per bonus aura to his allies

Motivate Ardor
With a thundering roar, the officer encourages his allies to fight harder and strike with more force. The officer grants their aura bonus as a bonus damage to his allies

Motivate Resilience
Straining his own limits, the officer pushes the others to reach the same heights and overcome even the most terrible of forces. They grants their aura bonus as a bonus to all the saves of his allies.

Motivate Hardiness
The pain is an illusion of the body, or that is what a trained officer general thoughts about it is. Thanks to their resolution, they grants their aura bonus as a damage reduction bonus to him and his allies equals to 2 time their bonus aura
