Around the world there are several placeables (static and not) that will grant some small bonuses or penalities depending on the ground you are standing on. For example, trying to cross a river will slow you down and make you more vulnerable to electric damage, standing in a high grass patch will grant you bonus to hide while standing in the light will give you penalty to hide etc.
There are also some placeable that will react to some interactions from the player, for example an unlit campfire will turn on if a player interact with it with a torch in their hands
Don't be afraid to experiment and double check what happens by interacting with the environment around you!
