Post by Chopstick »

Name: Limuorn Aushunde

Alias: Li

Race: Human

Initial Alignment: Lawful Good

Height: 6'1"

Weight/Build: 170 lbs, lean yet muscular

Age: 22

Eyes: Blue

Hair: Blonde, slightly wavy

Deity: Torm, God of Courage and Self-Sacrifice

Base Class & Proposed Development: Paladin

Notable/Distinguishing Features: A burn scar on his right hand, a reminder of a past battle where he defended a group of innocents. His eyes, though blue, have a sharp and piercing gaze, which seems to be constantly searching for threats. His armor has subtle engravings of Torm’s symbol, and his sword hilt bears a worn inscription, "Justice, Honor, Duty."

Appearance: Limuorn stands tall at 6'1", his lean and toned frame suggesting a life of discipline and physical training. His blonde hair, always kept in check, frames a face that is youthful yet marked by the weight of responsibility. His piercing blue eyes convey a sense of determination, constantly scanning his surroundings with an alertness that comes from years of honing his senses. There’s a quiet intensity in his gaze, often making people feel like he is always analyzing and judging, not out of arrogance, but out of necessity as a protector.

His armor, while clearly practical, is always meticulously maintained—scratches are few, and the metal gleams in the sunlight, though there is a certain weathered look to the plate, suggesting it’s seen its fair share of battle. The burn scar on his right hand is a defining feature, though he often hides it under his gauntlet, as it’s a reminder of a life-changing event that weighs heavily on him. His sword, with its distinct markings, is his constant companion—its blade sharp, its hilt worn but sturdy.

Personality Profile: Limuorn embodies the ideals of Lawful Good with unwavering dedication to duty and the protection of those unable to defend themselves. He has a strong moral compass and follows a strict code of conduct, instilled in him by his faith in Torm, the god of duty and justice. He values honor above all, and while he is compassionate, he is also unyielding in his pursuit of justice. He holds himself to incredibly high standards and expects the same of others, sometimes to a fault. However, beneath this rigid exterior lies a kind and selfless soul who deeply cares for the well-being of others.

Despite his clear commitment to righteousness, Limuorn is not without flaws. His devotion to duty can sometimes lead to a lack of flexibility, causing friction with those who see the world in shades of gray rather than black and white. He may also struggle with guilt over past failures, particularly regarding the lives lost in the battles he fought.

Background: Limuorn was born to a family of common folk in a small village on the outskirts of a large town near Dawncrest. His childhood was simple, shaped by the love of his parents and the work ethic instilled in him from a young age. However, his life took a fateful turn when his village was raided by bandits who left destruction in their wake. Limuorn, then only 16, was forced to defend his family and the villagers with what little he knew of combat. During the battle, he was gravely injured, his right hand burned by the flames of a burning building, and many lives were lost.

The event shattered Limuorn’s idealistic view of the world. He made a vow that day to never allow such injustice to prevail again. He sought out the teachings of Torm, dedicating himself to his faith, and began to train rigorously in the ways of a paladin. For years, he served as a protector in his homeland, eventually gaining recognition for his bravery, honor, and unyielding desire to uphold justice.

However, despite his personal victories, Limuorn never truly healed from the scars of his past. The weight of the lives lost still haunts him, and he believes that by upholding Torm’s teachings, he can make amends for the people he couldn't save. When he was called upon by his superiors to travel to the City, a place known for both its grandeur and corruption, Limuorn saw it as an opportunity to continue his mission of justice, hoping that it might offer him a chance to bring about the change he so desperately sought.

As he boards the caravan bound for the City, he reflects on his journey—both the battles he’s fought and the internal struggles he’s yet to overcome. He is determined to make a difference, no matter the cost.

Goals: To uphold justice: Limuorn seeks to be a beacon of righteousness, rooting out corruption and injustice in any form.
To redeem himself: Driven by guilt from the lives he couldn't save, Limuorn hopes that his work as a paladin will allow him to atone for his past failures.
To find peace: Limuorn hopes to one day find peace within himself, particularly in regard to the scars of his past, both physical and emotional.
To protect the innocent: His primary goal is to ensure that the weak and defenseless are protected from harm, and he will go to great lengths to fulfill this duty.

Enemies: The Bandit Lord: The leader of the bandits who destroyed Limuorn’s village is still at large, and Limuorn has sworn to bring him to justice. This personal vendetta fuels much of his drive.
Corrupt Officials: Limuorn holds a strong disdain for those who abuse their power for personal gain, especially when it harms others. He’s crossed paths with several corrupt figures in his homeland, and he’s aware that the City may harbor more such figures.
Personal Guilt: Limuorn’s greatest enemy may be himself. The guilt of failing to protect those he loves weighs heavily on him, and at times, this self-doubt can be just as dangerous as any external enemy.

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: The Bandit Lord’s Return: The bandit lord who attacked Limuorn’s village could resurface in the City or nearby, leading to a confrontation that challenges Limuorn’s ideals of justice and mercy.
A Test of Faith: Limuorn’s devotion to Torm could be tested when faced with a moral dilemma—such as having to choose between saving one life at the cost of many or following a strict code that may lead to more suffering.
Political Intrigue: In the City, Limuorn may uncover a political conspiracy involving powerful figures who secretly worship darker gods or who are actively corrupting the legal system. This could challenge his view of the world and force him to question whether all laws are worth following.
A Hidden Past: Limuorn could discover that his family’s history is more intertwined with the City’s underworld than he realizes, leading him to question who his true allies are.
