Vesur Streiger

Post by TheDwarf »

Name: Vesur Streiger

Alias: Vesur

Race: Dwarf (Shield)

Initial Alignment: Lawful Good

Height: 4 feet.

Weight/Build: Typical Stocky build

Age: 50 years young

Eyes: Earth Brown

Hair: Black (As is his beard)

Deity: Moradin

Base Class & Proposed Development: Paladin to start (As this gives him the start to his crusadership and priestly ideal, as well as some combat capability.) Later he will be taking both Dwarven Defender (I mean.. need it be said why, he's a dwarven Paladin, it's a logical choice) and Divine Champion (champion of torm equivilant) Because that will lead to both military and priestly ascension based on his background and goals.

Notable/Distinguishing Features: Has a simple but full black beard and neatly trimmed haircut, that he keeps both well groomed. Has a tattoo on his chest and a reverse tattoo on his back in white and firey-red.

Appearance: Has a fine head of black hair and simple full beard that he keeps maintained but not to a pompous point. Has a tattoo on his chest and a reverse tattoo on his back in white and firey-red. When he is dressed in his armor and not working on a forge, Vesur uses a Tower Shield and a Dwarven Waraxe when he dons his full heavy plate armor.
(I put the following in here as this is what he should be wearing when not fighting, drinking, or working a craftsman's table, If the following is not yet done, give it time.. it will be.)
Priestly Vestments: Ceremonial vestments for priests of Moradin include flowing, shining robes of woven wire of electrum treated with blueshine. Other ceremonial garb includes silvered (everbright) helms, silverplated war hammers, and earth-brown leather boots. The holy symbol of the faith is a miniature electrum war hammer, treated with blueshine.
Adventuring Garb: In combat, Moradin's clergymembers favors chain mail or dwarven plate mail, a helm, and a medium or large shield. Priests of the Soul Forger are skilled in the use of the war hammer, but many favor other weapons as well.

Personality Profile: The dwarf is gruff but approachable and willing to take in knowledge of just about anything. Typical of a dwarf they trust outsiders little.. and certain ones even less, but, in saying that.. Vesur is learning to temper this and accept that there are differences to those that are instilled by natural blood memory, or taught over their lives.

Background: A Shield Dwarf hailing from the Citadel Adbarr, Vesur Streiger serves the largest and most prominate church's Forge-halls of Moradin as a novice smith-priest, with the title of "Unworked", the lowest rank for those starting on their path. With dwarven numbers on the decline, and their Citadel's diminishing in number and prominance, Vesur took to the ForgeMaster of the Church halls with details of various different Citadels that were previously lost, giving rise to the factual idea that, if he could retake one of the lost halls, reconsecrating those that were simply ruins on his way, then surely the church would see fit to send some Hammer's of Moradin to defend the reclaimed site as dwarves "Move in" so to speak.. that they would fill the halls, ignite the fires, put into press the forges, and bring dwarven song.. (And of course ale) back, thus giving whichever Citadel that he is fortunate enough to find, a breath of life again.
Of course there is the fact that, the halls may be filled with goblinoids, giants, dragons, demons, and all manner of denziens of the underdark, including the demon-dwarves the Duerger. One dwarf may well just be cannon fodder, if that, to the armies that lay within. The church ForgeMaster specifically stated to him "Until you prove that your smithing attains a decent capability to work such powerful forges, and that his priestly might is enough to protect those forges.. then the church will not be able to send any aid in reclaiming that which has been deemed lost. However, should he be successful, then the ForgeMaster promised aid and backing in keeping the Citadel secure, with hint of a possible raise in rank to that which would be necessary to keep the church of Moradin prominate in the new Citadel.
While Vesur is devout in his faith of Moradin, loyal to the church unfathomably.. He also feels this is not something the church can give or take away, believing with as much heart and ideal as his faith, he also believes to the same extent, this is a personal quest, given to by Moradin himself. And by his beard and forge hammer, he believes he will see this through, or die trying. Given his leave to accomplish this monumental task, Vesur is suggested to by several smiths and a few clergy, that he should first visit Waterdeep, and move out from there, even if it means doubling back. So he did, taking a very long caravan ride towards Waterdeep City.. and what a ride he was in for.

Goals: Vesur is adamant in his belief that Moradin sent him signs that pointed his way all his life, first into the Church, then taking up the hammer. Now he has a new path, that of re-awakening the forges of a lost Citadel, and if possible, becoming it's King. He also is in the process of attaining other goals such as improving his smithing work to the point he can work the famed forges of such a Citadel, and increasing his rank in the church (Giving him more title backing to being King of the Citadel he finds).

Enemies: As a dwarf, they consider all goblinoids and giants to be evil and should be swiped from existance (This includes orcs, half orcs, ogres, giants of all kinds (Evils) hobgoblins, goblins, and anything else that would fit these racial archetypes).
As a Paladin, The dead that walk, are by most degrees and decrees, evil and should be laid to rest, however there is talk of a Citadel that is home to the ghostly apparitions of it's former dwarven residence that were slaughtered mercisely by goblins and Orcs... and they keep such filth away from their former home... perhaps, some ghosts, can be laid to rest peacefully, if they were shown that their home was safe once again. Necromancers are usually treated much like their summoned pets of bone and bloated flesh.. with a beating of such severity.. they don't wake back up.

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: Typically with Vesur, It is all about his hunt for a Citadel to claim for Dwarven kind, the church, and for Moradin. But also his Craftsmanship being improved till, at least for the forge, he is able to use a Citadels holy and powerful forges. Beyond this his devotion to the church gives him the need to increase his ranks.. this he hopes, will help him when claiming Kingship of a whichever Citadel he would find.. IF.. he finds one. (which would be his dwarven right unless contested either by a church superior, or usually in battle).

This very much goes hand in hand with his goals and background.
