Race: Human (Calimshan)
Name: Ceidil yr Zasheida ('daughter of Zasheida') al Pazdehd ('of House Pazdehd')
Age: 21
Height: 163cm / 5'3
Stature: slim, agile
Class: Wizard (generalist)
Description:
The young wizardess carries herself with the elegance of a noblewoman. While she doesn't appear to be especially strong, she appears physically sturdy enough to participate in combat if necessary, even though she'd rather stay in the backlines. Her bronze skin shows the light blemishes of an adventurer's life, a few light scars here and there but no signs of more dangerous injuries.
Ceidil keeps her dark brown hair bound in a large ponytail at almost all times, she only wears it open during official events, meetings or parties.
Ceidil is a pragmatic woman, prefering rationality over emotions although that can sometimes make her appear cold, aloof or disinterested. She shows no sign of romantic interest in men or women alike. As a scholar, she is interested in all kinds of lores and knowledge, although she does seem to get bored easily when it comes to discussions of theological matters. Her familiar, the fire mephit Osmir, shows similar personality traits as herself, behaving in a mostly rational, very pragmatic manner.
Biography:
Born to a minor noble of Memnoch, Calimshan, Ceidil enjoyed a sheltered upbringing and a good education from a young age. Early on, her father's court mage detected her talent for the arcane arts, leading to an education as a wizard. Reaching puberty, the curiosity of Calimshan's nobles began to catch up with Ceidil and men of all ages began their rituals of courtship, often including tempting offers such as mentorship under prestigious court mages. The young wizardess, however, showed little interest in courtly rituals and even less in 'romance' that would lead to becoming some pasha's second or third wife. She saw herself as more than an object of prestige.
Despite her disregard for the interest of pashas and minor nobles her father insisted on her accepting some of the offers extended to her, as was expected of a young woman of her station. Ceidil did try to make the best of that situation, weighing her options with a pragmatic mindset in order to be able to learn under the best court mages offered to her, often prompting her to travel from city to city and living at her benefactors palaces.
Upon reaching adulthood, when finally her father would demand of her to finally accept one courtship, one pasha to marry, Ceidil refused. She had played the game to slake her thirst for knowledge and with that well now drying up she was searching for new options. It didn't take long to come to a resolution, given the pressure from home and society: To further her studies and to escape the pressure to get married Ceidil had to leave Calimshan and forge her own destiny.
It was only a matter of time until her travels brought Ceidil to the gates of City of Splendors.
